Bike, walk to Riverfront Crossings Park grand opening celebration
The Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the grand opening of Riverfront Crossings Park presented in partnership with GreenState Credit Union (UICCU).
The celebration will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2019, and will include children’s activities from 3-6 p.m., followed by the opening of the concert grounds from 6-10 p.m.
Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the beautiful weather and ride their bikes or walk to the park located at 1101 South Clinton St. Some disabled parking will be available inside the park with additional parking available at the Johnson County Public Health parking garage located at 855 S. Dubuque St. Please follow the event parking signs and traffic directors for assistance.
Local food trucks will be at the event to serve delicious food starting at 5 p.m. The lineup includes Kona Ice, Marcos Grilled Cheese, The Box Lunch, and Rodney’s Jamaican Jerk & BBQ.
Attendees of all ages can bring their lawn chairs and blankets inside the concert grounds to enjoy live entertainment by EleanorGrace and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. A beer tent will be located inside the concert grounds for patrons 21+ to enjoy and consume within the designated area.
Children arts activities sponsored through a grant from the Iowa City Public Art Advisory Committee.
