Two of the greatest words in the English language have come together for an event that supports the Iowa City Public Library: book and sale.
The ICPL Friends Foundation will host a Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, in Meeting Room A. The sale features “Pay What You Want” prices on everything from large print books and graphic novels to fiction, cookbooks, nonfiction, graphic novels and children’s books.
All sales are final with proceeds benefitting the Library, courtesy of the Book End Committee of the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation.
Mark your calendars now for Lib Con 2 on Aug. 10
The summer sequel you've been waiting for -- Lib Con 2 -- is back and better than ever!
The Library’s annual comic con will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, throughout the Library building. Plans are still being finalized, but we know Artist Alley will be back for attendees to check out and buy local comic books and art. The Fandom Room will have a variety of arts and crafts creations, and we have a great lineup of panelists eager to share their knowledge about cosplay and other topics.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite costume. We’ll give away prizes for the best dressed in children's, teens and adults categories. The children's contest will be judged at 11:30 a.m., teens at 1 p.m. and adults at 3 p.m. The winners will be announced immediately after. Winners must be present to collect their prize.
Lib Con is free and open to all ages. Keep checking our website for more information.
