Police Arrest Two After Armed Robbery
On June 1st, 2018 at 4:00 am, Officers from the
Iowa City Police department along with officers from the University of Iowa Department
of Public Safety responded to the area of 301 N. Clinton Street for report of
an armed robbery. The victim reported that she was approached by two white males
who demanded that she give them her purse which contained numerous items
including her phone. During the robbery, one of the males displayed a handgun.
Arriving officers checked the area but were not able to
locate the suspects. A few minutes later, the victim and the investigating
officer began to track the victim’s stolen cell phone to 1100 Arthur Street in
Iowa City. There, officers were able to locate both suspects as well as the victim’s
property. Additionally, the suspects were identified by the victim. One of the
suspects was an adult while the other was a 16 year old juvenile.
The adult is identified as 18 year old Andrew Kyle Dangler.
Dangler gave an address of 800 S. 10th Street, Burlington, IA 52601
Officers at 1100 Arthur were assisted by the
Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
