City Park Pool and Iowa City splash pads to open June 2

Correction: A previous release indicated the incorrect opening date for the Iowa City splash pads. The splash pads will open Saturday, May 26.

Time to break out the sunscreen and bathing suits. City Park pool will open to the public on Saturday, June 2, 2018 and the spray/splash pads at Wetherby, Fairmeadows, and Tower Court Parks will open Saturday, May 26, 2018. 

The City Park Pool is located outdoors on Park Road in Upper City Park on the northwest side of Iowa City. Admission is $4 per person, and $2 per person from 5-8 p.m. for Twilight swim. Children 2 years-old and younger swim for no fee. Thirty-day and annual passes are available for families and individuals. These passes grant access to all Iowa City pools including Robert A. Lee, Mercer Park Aquatic Center and City Park.

The splash pads are open daily, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., during the summer season and do not require a fee. The pads are located at:

• Wetherby Splash Pad
  2400 Taylor Drive 
• Fairmeadows Splash Pad
  2500 Miami Drive
• Tower Court Spray Pad
  1124 Tower Ct.
