Community invited to final open house for Ped Mall project
All are welcome to attend an open house to learn about the Pedestrian Mall Improvements Project, which will begin this spring.
The public open house will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the Iowa City Public Library, Meeting Room A, 123 S. Linn St. A presentation will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will include construction details and a timeline. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions.
The Pedestrian Mall Improvements Project is part
of the larger Downtown and Pedestrian Mall Streetscape Plan, with the goal of improving accessibility, infrastructure and the look and feel of the area. Upgrades will include new amenities like lighting, plantings and accents
that celebrate Iowa City’s uniqueness and cultural footprint. Construction is
anticipated to begin in April.
