Mark your calendars for Community Seed Share 2.0
Interested in starting a
vegetable or flower garden this spring, but don’t want to invest in large
quantities of seeds? Do you have extra seeds that you'd like to share with
other gardeners? Come to the Iowa City Public Library from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 25, for our 2nd Annual Community Seed Share!
Sponsored by the Iowa City Public Library and the Iowa State Extension Master Gardeners of Johnson County, this is a great opportunity to share seeds you've saved or get some free seeds to try growing something new.
This event is part of the JCMG Growing Together efforts to reduce food
insecurity in Johnson County. With donations from Burpee, Baker Seeds and Seed
Savers, nearly 30 varieties of vegetable, herb and flower seeds will be
available.
The event is free and open to all - you do not have to bring seeds to participate. Seeds will be available first come, first served so plan to arrive early!
