ICPL releases February Sunday Fun Day schedule
Cabin fever got you down? Bring
the family to the Iowa City Public Library for Sunday Fun Day, every Sunday
from 2 to 4 p.m.
Sunday Fun Day features fun
activities for families to enjoy together. Each day has a theme with stories,
crafts, or games to celebrate it. All programs will be held in the Storytime
Room.
February 4: Snowman Mobile -- Let’s make a snowman mobile. The
Library will provide all the necessary materials; you bring your imagination!
February 11: Love Bugs -- Make a
love bug to tell someone special how much you care.
February 18: Freedom Bells -- To
celebrate Black History Month, we'll be creating hand bells out of cups, pipe
cleaners, and other materials. Decorate your bell with quotes from black heroes
of history and let freedom "ring!”
February 25: Dreaming of Spring Flowers -- We
know it’s early, but we’re dreaming of spring! Design pretty paper flowers
using cupcake liners and other materials.
In
addition to these craft activities for families, the students from the
University of Iowa’s Drama in the Classroom will present an interactive
improvisational storytelling activity from 2 to 3 p.m. on February 18 and
February 25. Learn how to bring stories to life using a variety of drama
techniques to animate, inhabit, and live a story.
