The space devoted to nonfiction
titles on the Bookmobile has doubled since we first hit the road this past summer.
The Bookmobile nonfiction collection
has nearly 200 new nonfiction titles covering many topics, from history and cooking to crafting and wellness. The most popular topics
include current events and biography.
Plan a visit that's best for your schedule and stop by to check it out. You'll find our current schedule here.
And remember -- if there’s not a book in the Bookmobile
collection you need, staff are happy to place a hold on an item for
delivery to the Bookmobile.
Have you picked up a hold on the Bookmobile?
Save yourself a trip downtown and pick up your holds on the Bookmobile!
To put a book on hold (or a movie, music, art print, etc.), click on the Place Hold button in the Library's online catalog. If you are not logged in, the catalog will ask for your library card number and password. The pop-up window will prompt you to choose a pickup location (downtown for the Library building or the Bookmobile).
This is a popular service, with 249 holds sent to the Bookmobile in August and nearly 200 sent in September.

Out and About with the Bookmobile
Did you see the Bookmobile at the University of Iowa Homecoming Parade? If the rain kept you away, the Bookmobile will be at the Halloween Parade and Carnival at Mercer Park Aquatic Center on Friday, October 27. The parade begins at 6:15 p.m., followed by the carnival at 6:30 p.m. Join the City of Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department for some spooky fun!
Winner selected for Library Card Sign Up Month Contest
Thanks to everyone who entered our Bookmobile Library Card contest last month.
The lucky winner of the $25 gas station gift certificate was Jacob Thompson!
National Library Card Sign Up Month may be over, but you can still apply for a Library Card on the Bookmobile. Remember, a photo ID
and Iowa address verification are required, so be sure to bring that with you.
More information about applying for a Library Card can be found here.
