One Community, One Book Discussion Sept. 23
The
Iowa City Public Library will host a discussion about the 2017 One Community,
One Book selection from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 23, in
Meeting Room A.
This
year’s selection is The Butterfly Mosque: A Young American Woman’s Journey to
Love and Islam by G. Willow Wilson. Praised as “an eye-opening look at
a misunderstood and often polarizing faith” by Booklist, “The Butterfly Mosque” is Wilson’s story of converting to
Islam and falling in love with an Egyptian man in a volatile post-9/11 world.
