the vehicle, as well as check out books or DVDs to take home. If you don’t have

Going to the Farmer's Market? So is the Bookmobile!
On Saturdays in May and June, as you stock up on Iowa City Farmer’s Market goodies, be sure stop by the Iowa City Public Library Bookmobile in the Chauncey Swan lot.
Bookmobile
Assistant Shawna Riggins, a self-described Farmer's Market shopper and
Library go-er, compiled a list of all the ways this new pairing could
come in handy:
After
you finishing browsing the stalls at the market, stop by the Bookmobile
and browse our collection of the latest and most popular Library
materials for all ages.
If you have
library materials to return, bring them with you and drop them off at
the Bookmobile. It doesn't matter if you checked them out on the
Bookmobile or the downtown building.
Picking up supplies for dinner? Don’t forget to pick up a movie to pop in after your meal!
Children's Bookmobile Materials are Fine-Free
Did you know that there
will be no fines on children’s Bookmobile materials?
If kids miss the vehicle’s
stop one week, they can hold on to their Bookmobile items without penalty and
return them during their next visit.
Please note that this only applies to children's items in the Bookmobile collection. Children's items checked out at the downtown library are still subject to late fees.
Happy Visitors on the Bookmobile
One of the great things about a mobile library service is the ability to meet people we might otherwise miss.
Recently, the Bookmobile visited Iowa City Marketplace, where we got to put our wheelchair-accessible lift in action for the first time. Our Library friend was very excited to be able to access the Bookmobile!
We also visited Grant Wood Elementary School during their carnival. It was a gray and rainy evening, but we forgot that as soon as we saw the kids' faces light up in joy at the sight of the new Bookmobile. "Books! Books! I love books," one boy shouted.
