The Mormon Trek Remote Book Return is Back!
March 8 was a happy day, as that's when the new West Side Remote Book Returns were installed at the University of Iowa Community Credit Union drive-thru, located at 825 Mormon Trek Blvd.
Several UICCU staff members cheered as the new book returns were unloaded from the truck. They told us many of their customers asked when the remote book return would be back after the old ones were damaged in a car accident in late January.
Three units
replace the old book drop. Each
unit accepts returns of all formats – books, DVDs, CDs, etc.
The Library
has two remote book drop locations, the west side location and east side, which
is located at Hy-Vee Food Store, 812 S. 1st Ave. Both remote book
drops are emptied daily. Items returned after 1 p.m. are considered returned
the next day.

It's Book Madness time!
Voting for our fourth annual literary competition, Book Madness @ ICPL, has begun!
Visit the display in the Library's Gallery on the first floor to vote for the titles you want to see win it all in this year's competition. We'll update the brackets every Monday until there’s a winner. Books that advance through the “tournament” will be posted on the Library’s blog.
The winning titles -- one in the children's bracket, and another in the adults and teens bracket -- will be announced in April 17.
Did you know the Library cures winter blues?
Our patrons do!
A recent social media posting, paired with a photo of our Blind Date with a Book display, thanked ICPL for keeping things fresh while everything else is frozen: "A big thank you to all the wonderful initiatives from the public library. @iowacitypubliclibrary."
