Fence Removal
Kuehn Conservation Area: Aug 9, 9-11am
Calling all volunteers! Many of our parks were historically farms, and there is still evidence in the form of tile, farm machinery, and fence. This August, we will be pulling posts and wrapping up barbed wire. Gloves, long pants, and sleeves recommended. Registration required.

Raccoon River Valley Trail Closure

The section of the trail from Redfield to Linden is now closed for improvements until further notice. The Redfield Depot remains open.

Creek Walk

Want to beat the summer heat? Tag along with a DCCB naturalist on a hike down to Waterfall Creek to splash around in an enchanting part of the forest. Registration required.

Summer Color Prairie Walk
Forest Park (Perry): Aug 15, 9-10am
The prairie that once was dull brown-yellow grass and bare plant stalks in the winter is now a rainbow of colors during the mid-summer months. Join us for a relaxing walk to get a closer look at some of our common prairie wildflowers. Registration required.

On-Call: Monarch Tagging

Catch and tag monarch butterflies en route to Central Mexico to help with an international monarch migration research project. Date, time, and location will be determined by the monarchs! Register to join notification list.
