Venturing Vultures

LOCATION: Voas Nature Area, Minburn

People may think they're creepy or gross, but Naturalist Erica loves them! Join her to learn about one of Iowa's biggest raptors and why they're important to our ecosystem. Registration required.

Fence Removal

LOCATION: Voas Nature Area, Minburn

DATE/TIME: Aug 2, 9-11am

Many of our parks were historically farms, and they still contain evidence in the form of drain tile, farm machinery, and fencing. We will pull fence posts and wrap of barbed wire. Gloves, long pants, and sleeves recommended. Registration required.

Raccoon River Valley Trail Closure

The section of the trail from Redfield to Linden will be closed for improvements beginning Monday, August 7 until further notice. The Redfield Depot will remain open.

The Dallas County Conservation Board was established in 1962 to protect, preserve, and enhance our natural resources by providing opportunities to improve the public's quality of life through environmental education, ecosystem management, outdoor recreation, and historic preservation.
