Moved by Moving Water
LOCATION: Starting at Redfield Dam in Redfield, to Pleasant Valley Wildlife Management Area DATE: June 4, 9am-2pm
What can you learn from a river? The water flowing through the branches of the Raccoon River is a defining feature of Dallas County and is an invaluable resource to many people living and recreating in Central Iowa. To learn more about this resource, naturalists will lead an educational river float on one of the branches of the Raccoon River. As we paddle, we’ll stop and take water quality measurements, explore the aquatic ecosystem, discuss the natural history of the river, observe stream dynamics in action, and more. Attendees must provide their own boats, paddles, and life jackets. *Registration required
