The Iowa DNR is looking for a motivated Professional Engineer (PE) to join its Design Engineering Section. The Senior Design Engineer provides technical assistance in the planning, directing and coordinating of a comprehensive program of construction, repair and preventative maintenance for DNR facilities.
The position will manage the full project lifecycle from initial planning and multi-disciplinary design through construction and maintenance. This involves conducting complex structural and mechanical analyses, preparing comprehensive contract documents — including drawings, specifications and cost estimates — and providing professional authentication via a civil engineering stamp. Throughout the construction phase the Senior Design Engineer will coordinate with stakeholders and field engineering to manage information requests, review submittals, and perform rigorous site inspections to ensure compliance with design principles and contract specifications.

State Park Technician

Air Quality Section Supervisor

This leadership role will specifically be responsible for overseeing both the staff and activities undertaken within the Title V Operating Permit and Emissions Inventory sections, including timely issuance of Title V operating permits, and the collection and accurate reporting to state and federal officials of point and non-point source emissions inventory data within Iowa.
