TMDL Engineer

State Park Technician

The DNR’s Parks, Forests, and Preserves Bureau is seeking a state park technician for Lake of Three Fires State Park in southwest Iowa. The technician works closely with the park manager to ensure park facilities are maintained and in excellent condition. The technician will operate diverse equipment safely and effectively, including mowers, tractors, boats and power tools, while also overseeing infrastructure systems like HVAC, drinking water and wastewater facilities. The ideal candidate will have diverse mechanical skills, be enthusiastic about natural resource management, and also enjoy serving park visitors. District Engineer
Location: Swisher, IA (work location may be flexible within southeast Iowa district)

The DNR's Engineering, Land and Waters Bureau is seeking a construction engineer to join its team. This position serves as lead engineer for southeast Iowa, covering 17 counties. The engineer will provide technical planning, management and coordination of construction, repair and preventative maintenance for all DNR facilities within the district. This position will manage a variety of construction projects, ranging from minor culvert replacements to complete campground reconstructions, which may include water, wastewater, electrical, and pavement infrastructure replacement. The district engineer also will work closely with biologists to design and construct facilities that benefit the environment, such as landscape stabilization, habitat improvements, or restoration of areas to natural states.
