Announcement Reminders & ILOC Registration

Happy New Year! 2023 went out like a lamb (as far as weather goes); 2024 seems determined to be in like a lion. I hope you and your patrons are staying safe and warm. It's a good time of year to cozy up with a webinar! And, oh buddy, do we have a full slate coming up for you in the next few months. 

First up, if you missed the news about the WebJunction integration or the changes with the nationwide free CE Calendar, please see the CE Newsletter from Dec. 29. 

Next, I hope you're planning to join us for ILOC! It's just under two weeks out, and it's sure to be a great day of information & education. Register today to save your seat! The “Safe at Home” Program and Your Library

Thursday, January 18, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Safe at Home is an address confidentiality program from the Iowa Secretary of State. Survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, assault, human trafficking, or stalking may fear giving out their home address. Libraries do have a need to know a patron's address. This webinar will cover the basics of the program and explain how you can offer library services to participants.

Watch a course from that list or another CE training offered by someone other than the State Library of Iowa? Please complete the "Request for External CE Form" within 45 days of participating in the training.

Request for External CE Credit

WJ Logo

As of January 1, 2024, hours earned through WebJunction will be automatically applied to your IA Learns account. You can expect to see hours on your account on or near the 1st day of the following month. The completion date of your coursework in IA Learns will match your WebJunction certificate.

You do not need to fill out the Request for External CE Credit form for WebJunction content for any course. It will simply be added to your IA Learns transcript!
