December 2023
Greetings, friends:
REMINDER: There is NO SUPPORT GROUP MEETING IN DECEMBER 2023.
The Linn County blindness support group will have its next meeting on Wednesday, 24 January 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to about noon, in the narthex (gathering area outside the church sanctuary) at First Lutheran Church, 1000 3rd Av SE in Cedar Rapids. Best place to enter the building is on the back side under the carport. Enter the doors there and climb the stairs (or use elevator) to reach our meeting place.
We have no outside speaker for our meeting. We’ll start with group member Thomas Topping telling his blindness story (should be interesting). We’ll also talk about our favorite books, and share what we know about accessing them via BARD and the Library for the Blind.
If you have any questions about the meeting or anything else, please call Jonathan Ice at 319-298-2919 or iceje89@gmail.com. I hope you can join the group on 24 January.
Jonathan
Agenda for January meeting:
- Introductions – tell the funniest thing that has happened to you regarding your blindness
- Thomas Topping will talk about his journey through blindness
- Discuss favorite books and how we can find them in accessible format
