ISL Education Lending Scholarship

ISL

Beginning January 8 and through March 29, 2024, Iowa high school students, undergraduate college students, or their parents and guardians who are Iowa residents can register online on the scholarship website. Eligible entries will be entered into drawings for 45 $1,000 deposits into College Savings Iowa accounts.

After registration, participants will have the opportunity to experience tips on planning and paying for education after high school and will receive emailed tips through the rest of the program period.

Here is what Lorena, a fall registrant, had to say after entering the fall drawing. “The information given is very helpful to help my child get a higher education. The questions were easy to follow as well.”

ISL Education Lending tools and resources are offered year-round and are free on our website at www.iowastudentloan.org/college-planning-tools/. Families and students can learn how to plan smart and pay less for college with Student Loan Game Plan and College Funding Forecaster. The Return on College Investment tool can assist in choosing a college major.

Parents and guardians of eighth through 12th grade students can sign up at www.sp3.org for free, targeted and useful information that is delivered to their inbox twice a month. Once registered, they are then entered into quarterly drawings for deposits into a 529 college savings plan.

Accounting Opportunities Experience and the High School Case Competition

ISCPA

Accounting Opportunities Experience is a national campaign to bring CPAs into classrooms that took place throughout the month of November. We even received a declaration from the governor of Iowa designating the month of November Accounting Opportunities Month! We held in-person presentations across the state to help high school students better understand opportunities in the business world.

The Iowa Society of CPAs (ISCPA) is excited to announce the Second Annual ISCPA High School Case Competition for the spring semester. This is a fantastic opportunity to expose students to the accounting profession! The case provides students an on-going, real-world learning experience - culminating in a day spent in person at a host company, either CPA firm or company, near you!
