E-RATE UPDATES
|
|
Each year, schools and libraries can upgrade their network technology, ensuring their students and educators have a secure connection to access digital resources via the Internet. It is essential to increase access to dependable internet to close the digital divide, and this is where E-rate can play a crucial role. |
Check out our helpful article on what services qualify for E-Rate.
E-Rate Has Two Categories:
Category One includes high-speed broadband access. Schools and districts can subscribe to broadband services from internet service providers and purchase lit fiber services. The highest discount level for Category One services is 90 percent.
Category Two includes equipment such as wireless access points and controller systems, routers and switches, and caching technology.
Reaching EdTech Harmony in Your Classroom
ESchoolNews Bob Wudeck
In today’s dynamic educational landscape, technology has become an integral part of teaching and learning, but it presents a paradox. While diverse edtech products promise innovation, they simultaneously pose challenges. Educators, learners, instructional technology coaches, and IT/edtech staff are grappling with the complexities of managing an ever-expanding arsenal of disconnected digital tools.
This article also features Lightspeed’s EdTech App Report that sheds light on district safety, cybersecurity, and budgeting based on national trends. Insights come from more than 100 school districts across the United States with enrollments ranging from 200 to more than 200,000.
