Happy Friday!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I was able to get my outdoor lights hung on Friday after Thanksgiving - what a gorgeous weekend it was. I also ate WAY too much dessert - YOLO!
On Wednesday, we shared the employee engagement survey dashboard and results with the HHS leadership team. We are excited to provide this tool for supervisors which creates a collective opportunity to see what is working well for our teams and where we can make improvements. Below is another snapshot from the survey. On Wednesday, we talked about the neutral zones (yellow bars). Our partner for this project, Workforce Science Associates, explained that there are clear opportunities for improvement where there are a large number of neutral responses. We’ve asked supervisors to digest the results for their units, share results with their teams, and get to work on addressing those yellow bars. I am incredibly excited to talk with our Compliance team about how we can improve - employee engagement is critical to our collective success! In addition, as we build out the Compliance team’s sharepoint intranet site, we will be sure to include HHS wide survey results on our site - for this survey and other alignment related employee surveys - it’s important to us that we share this information back with you as well as with each other. When our site is finished, I’ll be sure to share a link in one of my notes!
Our IT teams continue to be hard at work identifying and planning for alignment related IT projects. These projects include establishing an IT governance structure; transitioning legacy public health team members from Google to Microsoft; updating IT applications, dashboards, and systems with the new HHS brand; supporting the movement of Capitol Complex staff into one office building; and identifying current systems with potential to be streamlined or merged into one system. These projects will take time, but we are moving closer to project plans with defined timelines that we can share with you to answer questions that you’ve raised about “when”. This is a tremendous undertaking and we are grateful for our dedicated IT teams!
Interviews have continued for additional leadership team members in Family Well-Being and Protection over the last two weeks, as well as first round CIO interviews. We are also in the process of scheduling interviews for additional leadership positions in Community Access. The Administrative Rules and Appeals team is moving to the Lucas Building to join the rest of the Compliance Division next week. We look forward to having them close!
That's all for now! If you have questions about alignment that I have not addressed in my weekly updates, please send your questions to me and my assistant, Amy Van Maanen. Take care and hope to see you soon!
