(Des Moines, IA) The data center for the Iowa Immunization Registry Information System (IRIS), the application used by providers to report COVID -19 vaccine administration information, experienced a brief hardware malfunction on March 16. For the duration of the outage, which affected Iowa and multiple other states, providers could not access IRIS to input vaccine administration information. This issue has now been resolved and all functionality has been restored.

The malfunction resulted in a delayed update to the https://coronavirus.iowa.gov/ website’s vaccine administration information. The website will update around noon today, the regular update timeline, with administration data that has been entered into IRIS. Electronic data submission from providers began immediately after IRIS was restored. For providers who conduct manual data entry, it may take a couple days to complete data submission.
