The Iowa Department of Public Health, Immunization Program will offer training today at 9 a.m. on IRIS and COVID-19 vaccine administration. Topics will include documentation of COVID-19 doses administered, IRIS inventory management specific to COVID-19 vaccines, mass vaccination, reminder recall, and vaccine redistribution (transfers). Registration is required and is available here. This is a recurring training event each Tuesday at 9 a.m. through March 2021, so registration will only be required one time for all dates.
COVID-19 vaccine IRIS instructions can be found here, including adding vaccine to inventory, mass vaccination, adding COVID-19 immunizations to patient records, and reminder-recall. Documentation on patient records is critical, including correct lot numbers and trade names.
