IRIS users,
Please share this information with your COVID-19 vaccine providers and staff.
1. Patient Records: Do not send test records to IRIS. Only actual patient records should be reported to IRIS.
2. Vaccine Inventory: COVID-19 vaccine must be included in the administering healthcare provider organization’s IRIS inventory prior to administering doses. This allows for the vaccine inventory to be decremented with each vaccine dose administered and documented in IRIS.
3. Do not report historical COVID-19 doses in IRIS: It is the responsibility of the administering health care organization to report COVID-19 vaccine administration to IRIS. If you receive notification that a patient has received the COVID-19 vaccine at another healthcare organization, do not add this dose as historical on the patient’s record. The dose will be added by the healthcare organization that administered the dose.
4. IRIS Webinar: Tuesday December 29 from 9:00-10:00 a.m.
This webinar will include a demonstration of IRIS to report doses administered and manage your inventory. The webinar will not cover COVID-19 vaccine administration or other medical topics. 5. Redistribution: COVID-19 vaccine cannot be redistributed (transferred) to another organization without prior approval from IDPH.
a. Redistribution requests can only occur between approved Iowa COVID-19 Vaccine Program Provider organizations.
b. Initiating organization must complete the COVID-19 Vaccine Redistribution Form and email the form to COVID19Vaccine@idph.iowa.gov.
c. IDPH will approve all requests within 24 hours.
d. IDPH staff will complete the transfer of doses from the initiating organization’s IRIS account and will accept the transfer of doses in the receiving organization’s IRIS account.
e. Transferring provider is responsible for the physical transfer of vaccine and ancillary supplies.
