To get a little taste of tomorrow's webinar, Xerces has also put out a beautiful new brochure all about fireflies.
I grew up in Virgina calling them lightning bugs but did you know that regardless of the generic names we give them there are over 170 species in North America? And that each of these species has their own signature pattern of flashes? Fireflies are facing many of the same threats that impact other insects and you can help them by designating a little area of your yard to grow wild and keeping your outside lights off after dark so the fireflies can really shine.
