The summit will convene a wide variety of stakeholders to:
- Identify ways to strengthen senior nutrition programs and improve seniors’ access to healthy food.
- Better understand the health implications of chronic food insecurity.
- Identify opportunities to screen and intervene.
- Share best practices and successful community models for healthy aging and reducing food insecurity, especially in rural communities
Who should attend?
- Professionals and volunteers who work with vulnerable seniors
- Advocates working to reduce hunger or food insecurity
- Caregivers, medical providers, social workers, dietitians and health educators, community health workers
- People interested in creating communities that support healthy aging
Registration is open at Working Together to Reduce Senior Hunger in Iowa. The registration fee is $30, and will include lunch.
