The P2 InfoHouse is the nation's premier online repository of pollution prevention (P2) information and resources. It houses a searchable online collection of more than 50,000 P2-related publications, fact sheets, case studies and technical reports. Utilized by P2 professionals, business and industry, academic institutions and government agencies, it is the largest single electronic resource for P2 information in the country.
As of November 2018, Pollution Prevention Services has taken over administration and hosting responsibilities of the P2 InfoHouse. We look forward to reviewing, updating and adding to the numerous resources available, to continue making it as relevant and informative to all users as possible.
The online P2 database can be found at its new home, P2InfoHouse.org. Please let us know if there are resources you'd like to see added to the InfoHouse, and continue to check back for P2 information and updates!

Please join us in welcoming Sarah Mihm to the Pollution Prevention Services team!
Sarah joins Pollution Prevention Services as a new member of the technical assistance staff. Sarah has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University and will be an integral part of P2 Services' assessment program, conducting multimedia technical assessments for companies across the state. She will also support student interns as a technical advisor through our Pollution Prevention Intern Program.
Sarah will be joining our staff in the field and at program events in the coming months as she meets and learns about the many Iowa facilities P2 Services supports.
Welcome Sarah!

Pollution Prevention (P2) Services is accepting Intern Project Requests until December 1, 2018 for the 2019 Pollution Prevention Intern Program. In this nationally recognized internship program, Iowa companies and institutions submit potential P2 projects for consideration and P2 Services matches upper-level engineering students with specific projects based on each student's coursework, academic performance, experience, technical, and communication skills.
After one week of comprehensive training with P2 program staff the intern serves at the host facility, where they analyze the current process, research strategies, calculate cost comparisons, and implement improvements. After writing a final report documenting results and recommendations, the intern presents this information to management at the host company and writes a case summary of the project. Internships begin in May 2019, with 12- or 24-week project opportunities available.

Reducing energy use is on everyone's radar. Iowa companies continue to seek reputable resources and tools for identifying effective energy conservation strategies. The Department of Energy is home to a number of such tools, one of which is the Better Plants® program.
Through this voluntary program, DOE provides company partners with a variety of resources to help them improve internal energy expertise and achieve their energy savings goals. There are online technical resources on energy savings strategies for a variety of different mechanical systems. There is also support - both online and onsite - for developing energy management plans, tracking energy performance metrics, accessing energy measurement tools, and much more.
While only partners have access to certain aspects of the Better Plants® program, any facility can access their online technical resources.
Browse the Better Plants® website to learn more about the program. You can also contact Jeff Fiagle (jeff.fiagle@dnr.iowa.gov) with Pollution Prevention Services for more information or to access additional energy conservation resources and technical assistance services!
