DES MOINES – The
price of Iowa regular unleaded gas rose $.02 this week, closing at $2.73 per
gallon.
Crude
Oil Summary
The
price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI)
by $0.55 per barrel over last week, and is currently priced at $68.74.
Brent
crude oil rose $0.31 and is currently priced at $74.25.
One
year ago WTI crude sold for $45.30 and Brent crude was at $48.01.
Motor
Fuels
As
of Tuesday, July 31, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.73
across Iowa according to AAA. This is $.02 higher than last week and $.59
higher than one year ago. The national average on Tuesday was $2.86, up $0.01
from last week’s price.
Retail
diesel fuel prices in Iowa were $.01 higher than last week’s price with a
statewide average of $3.08. One year ago diesel prices averaged $2.34 in Iowa.
The current Iowa diesel price is $.07 less than the national average of $3.15.
Wholesale
ethanol prices were up $.04 from last week’s price, currently at $1.46.
The
current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.09 for U87-E10, $2.30 for Unleaded
87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $2.28, ULSD#1 is at $2.46, and E-70 is priced at $1.72
per gallon.
Heating
Fuels
Natural
Gas prices rose $.04 at the Henry Hub reporting site and ended the week at
$2.76/MMbtu.
Continuing
throughout the summer months, we will only report retail heating oil and
propane prices in Iowa once a month.
