Both Central-American Consulates spent three days in Iowa, meeting with businesses that employ Latinos in the state. They also facilitated an informational forum with their constituents and met with Iowa Department of Education Director, Ryan Wise.

 Be #VoterReady for the Iowa June 5th primary elections. A voting Iowan is an Iowan empowered to influence and create change at the federal, state, and local level, and casting your ballot is as easy as registering, providing proof of identification, and voting.
The first step is registering to vote. You can do this online, through the mail, or at the polls on Election Day.
Second, bring a valid form of identification to the polls.
The last step is just as easy–cast your ballot!
The deadline to pre-register to vote and to request absentee ballots from the county auditor’s office is tomorrow, May 25. Please remind your constituents that the ballot request forms must be received by the county auditor’s office by 5 p.m.

NEW DRIVER'S LICENSE CARD DESIGN |
The Iowa DOT is creating a new design for the driver license/identification cards. The new cards will be produced in June.
The new design features the state capitol with its gold dome and our state motto: “Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain”.

 Iowa Victim Service Call Center
The Iowa Victim Service Call Center, a division of Family Crisis Centers (FCC), began in October of 2015. Since inception, the Call Center has received approximately 21,000 calls per year from victims and survivors of many crimes, including: homicide, robbery, kidnapping, identity theft, hate crime, elder abuse, drunk driving, burglary, bullying, assault, arson, human trafficking, incest, sexual abuse as a child, sexual assault, child physical abuse, teen dating violence, domestic violence, and more. With staff available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, callers are given the full attention they deserve. In fact, not only can victims and survivors of crime call in, but so can concerned family members, friends and more. The advocates are ready and able to help. When a victim or survivor calls in, they can expect no fees and no judgement – just a listening, caring,trained advocate.
