Lake Odessa in Louisa County impacted by flood

WAPELLO - The Lake Odessa Complex in Louisa County is currently being impacted by major flooding on the Mississippi and Iowa Rivers.

Two emergency spillways have overtopped and the water level at Lake Odessa is rising rapidly.  Waterfowl hunters who plan to hunt Odessa for the upcoming opener should be aware of the rising waters and plan accordingly.

The Toolesboro access road has already been closed due to flooding and the Sand Run and Schafer’s accesses will likely become inundated in the near future.  Hunters can monitor the rising water levels at the following link:   http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=dvn&gage=odsi4
