Career Fair June 27 in Altoona as part of One Door, Many Paths: WIOA Partners’ Conference
Altoona, IA— A career fair will be held on Monday, June 27 to assist Iowans with finding fulfilling career opportunities as part of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) One Door—Many Paths: a partners’ conference.
More than 60 employers will feature career opportunities focused on the six major workforce sectors: financial, advanced manufacturing, health care, information technology, skilled trades and logistics. The job fair is an unprecedented state workforce and state government collaboration, including IowaWORKS, International Association of Workforce Professionals, WIOA, DMACC, Home Base Iowa, and Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
Job seekers are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes to the job fair to share with potential employers.
WIOA is focused on building Iowa’s talent pipeline and aligning workforce services to ensure our state has a workforce ready to fill the high-quality, well-paying jobs and careers of today and tomorrow. WIOA legislation encourages seamless integration of government, public and private sector organizations to help job seekers receive the appropriate tools and resources at the right time.
For job seekers who do not have access to reliable transportation, Prairie Meadows and the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) are teaming up to provide free transportation services to job seekers.
- Beginning at 8:46 a.m., DART will drop off job seekers at the Altoona Walmart parking lot (3501 8th Street SW)
- Prairie Meadows will provide shuttle service from the Altoona Walmart to the One Door- Many Paths Career Fair at Prairie Meadows Conference Center, which begins at 9:00 a.m.

The shuttle will return participants to the Altoona Walmart when the job fair ends at 11:30 a.m.
