Environmental Protection Charge (EPC) – Expiration Date Change


The 1 cent per gallon Environmental Protection Charge (EPC) on petroleum products deposited into certain, primarily underground, storage tanks was set to expire on June 30, 2016.  Recent legislation (HF 2464) has delayed the expiration date.  The EPC is now scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2016. 

 

Those licensed to collect and remit the EPC must continue doing so through the end of 2016. 

 

EPC QUARTER ENDING:                  RETURN IS DUE:

June 30, 2016                                      August 1, 2016

September 30, 2016                            October 31, 2016

December 31, 2016                             January 31, 2017 – FINAL DUE DATE
