Stakeholder Group Being Formed to Discuss Form IA 100; Iowa Capital Gain Deduction.

Now that another tax filing is season behind us, the Iowa Department of Revenue (IDR) would like to gather a stakeholder group to discuss ways to improve the IA 100 form.

As background, IDR created Form IA 100; Iowa Capital Gain Deduction as a way to gather information on Iowa Capital Gain Deductions at the time returns are filed.  The hope is that we can reduce or eliminate the need to request the same information at a later date.  Tax year 2015 was the first year for the new form and we have received numerous questions and suggestions as the filing season has progressed. In response IDR is asking for your input on ways to improve the IA 100 for future tax years. The Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation (CALT) has agreed to help facilitate this stakeholder group.
