On August 6, 2015, Marvin McCartney was sentenced in Scott County on one count of Income Tax Evasion for a willful attempt to defeat or evade Iowa income tax. Tax Evasion is a Class D Felony.

 

McCartney was given a deferred judgment with 3 years’ probation and was ordered to pay restitution to the Iowa Department of Revenue. The amount of restitution will be determined at a later date.

 

This case was developed by the Investigative Audit Section of the Iowa Department of Revenue and prosecuted by the Scott County Attorney’s office.
