Ames Animal Shelter Offering Adoption Specials
AMES, Iowa – Ames Animal Shelter is recognizing June as “Adopt a Cat Month” by offering adoption specials throughout the month. The adoption specials will include the following:
- Adult cats (6 months and older): $25 each, a $75 reduction from the regular adoption fee.
- Kittens (5 months and under): $100, with 2-for-1 kitten adoptions at $100.
“We are hopeful that the Adopt a Cat Month event will be just as successful as it was last year,” said Ames Animal Control Supervisor Ron Edwards. “There is no better way to celebrate Adopt a Cat Month than by giving a deserving cat a loving forever family.”
Adoption fees include head-to-tail exam by the Shelter’s veterinary technician, spay/neuter prior to adoption, age-appropriate vaccinations, test for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) status, tests for intestinal parasites/treatment for any identified intestinal parasites, flea preventative, microchip with 24PetWatch (lifetime registration included), carrier to get the cat safely home, and a starter kit with food and toys.
