City of Ames Schedule for Holidays
AMES, Iowa – Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Ave., and most City of Ames offices will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25. Most City of Ames offices will also be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, in observance of New Year’s Day.
The Community Center will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. The facility will close early at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, Sunday, Dec. 29, and Tuesday, Dec. 31. The Ames/ISU Ice Arena will be open Tuesday, Dec. 24 for Figure Freestyle from 5:45 to 7:15 a.m., Stick and Helmet from 12:30 to 2 p.m., and closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25. The Ice Arena will feature a public New Year’s Eve Skate from 9 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday, Dec. 31. The facility will be open on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. for Figure Freestyle. The Ames Public Library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. The library will be open regular hours on Thursday, Dec. 26, and Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. CyRide will operate fewer trips during the Iowa State University semester break from Dec. 20 through Jan. 20, 2025. All shaded trips and routes noted in the normal school year schedules will not operate at these times. In addition, there will be no CyRide service on Wednesday, Dec. 25, or Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. Resource Recovery Plant administrative offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. The tipping floor will be open from 6 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and open 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26.
