North Riverside Drive to Close
AMES, Iowa – The intersection of North Riverside Drive and North Third Street will close on Monday, Oct. 28, weather permitting, for the removal and replacement of the existing sanitary sewer manhole in the intersection. This is anticipated to take one week.
On Monday, Nov. 4, North Riverside Drive from North Second to North Third Street will close, weather permitting, for pavement removal and replacement. This is anticipated to take two weeks.
This work will be followed by phase two of the project, which includes pavement removal and replacement between the curbs of North Riverside Drive from Lincoln Way to North Second Street.
The City of Ames has contracted with Con-Struct for the reconstruction of North Riverside Drive from Lincoln Way to North Third Street. This project will include manhole removal and replacement, curb and gutter replacement, driveway apron, collector line, and infill pavement. Additionally, sidewalk ramps will be updated to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
