Lane closures scheduled in Wailua and Kapaʻa Sept. 28 to Oct. 2
KAPAʻA – The Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Division and its contractor, Kennedy Jenks, are announcing one-lane closures on several County roads in Wailua and Kapaʻa from Monday, Sept. 28, through Friday, Oct. 2, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
The closures are necessary for wastewater manhole and sewer line inspections. One-lane closures are expected on Inia Street, Lehua Street, Kukui Street, Olohena Road, ʻŌhiʻa Street, and Ulu Street. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times.
To reduce impacts on families and students, crews will not begin work near Kapaʻa Middle School until 9 a.m., after morning drop-off, and will move away from the school as the day progresses to limit delays during afternoon pick-up.
Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the lane closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. No parking will be allowed in the work zones. Traffic control signs, cones, and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic. Please use caution when traveling through the work zones and follow all posted signs and directions from flaggers.
For more information or questions, please contact the Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Division at 808-241-4082 or pwww@kauai.gov, or Stephen Esaki, project engineer at Kennedy Jenks, at 808-218-6032.
