Portion of Kalena Park temporarily closed July 22 for tree planting
LĪHUʻE – The Department of Parks and Recreation announces the temporary closure of the basketball and pickleball court at Kalena Park on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
The closure is necessary to allow park maintenance crews to plant new trees and palm trees along the Rice Street rock wall.
The closure affects the basketball and pickleball court only. All other areas of the park will remain open to the public for recreational use.
The Department of Parks and Recreation thanks the public for their patience and understanding during this period.
