Temporary closure announced for Kaumumene Trail beginning June 29
PRINCEVILLE – The County of Kauaʻi Department of Public Works is announcing the temporary closure of Kaumumene Trail, also known as Hideaways Trail, beginning Monday, June 29, while repairs to the trail are completed.
The trail is expected to remain closed for approximately eight weeks, with reopening anticipated in late August 2026, weather permitting. During this time, the trail will be closed to all public access to allow crews to safely complete the necessary repair work.
The public is asked to observe all posted closure signage and to avoid the trail during the closure period for the safety of trail users and work crews.
The Department of Public Works appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as these improvements are completed.
