For Immediate Release: January 20, 2026

UPDATE: Anahola temporary bridge anticipated to reopen mid-March

ANAHOLA – The Department of Public Works and Cushnie Construction are announcing that the temporary bridge over Olokauha Stream on Anahola Road is anticipated to reopen mid-March.

Due to issues with construction materials, the project was delayed.

The bridge will remain closed to vehicular traffic for the full duration of construction.

No additional closures are necessary; however, additional space adjacent to the bridge will be utilized for a laydown area. Pedestrian access over the bridge will be retained throughout the project. Updates will be provided in future news releases if changes occur.

The County urges the public to exercise greater awareness in this area during the construction period for both their safety and the safety of the construction crew.
