Firefighters extinguish structure fire in Hanalei Wednesday
HANALEI – Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters extinguished a structure fire in Hanalei Wednesday, January 14.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on Kūhiō Highway in Hanalei on Wednesday shortly after 11:05 p.m.
Personnel with the Hanalei Fire Station and the on-duty Battalion Chief responded to the incident.
According to a preliminary report, upon arrival shortly after 11:20 p.m., firefighters discovered a 10-foot by 20-foot storage tent in flames. First responders successfully extinguished the initial fire and then discovered a fire extension to a shipping container. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire extension and all remaining hot spots.
Firefighters cleared the scene shortly after 12:55 a.m. on Thursday, January 15.
