TRAFFIC ADVISORY: 25th Annual Waimea Light Parade Dec. 20
WAIMEA – The 25th Annual Waimea Light Parade will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, beginning at 6:15 p.m. The parade will start at Waimea Canyon Middle School parking lot, proceed down Huakai Road, continue along Waimea Canyon Drive to Kaumuali‘i Highway, and end at the Alawai Road intersection.
To ensure safety for participants and spectators, the Kaua‘i Police Department will close all streets along the parade route from 5:00 p.m. to approximately 8:15 p.m. or until the parade concludes. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and expect delays.
Parking & Transit Updates:
- No parking will be allowed along the parade route starting at 5:00 p.m. on December 20.
- The Kaua‘i Bus Route 200 departing from Līhu‘e at 3:25 p.m., 4:25 p.m., 5:25 p.m., 6:25 p.m., and 7:25 p.m. will end in Waimea at the Pāʻulaʻula State Historic Site (formerly Russian Fort).
- The Kaua‘i Bus Route 100 will start in Waimea at the Pāʻulaʻula State Historic Site at 5:31 p.m., 6:31 p.m., 7:31 p.m., 8:31 p.m., and 9:31 p.m., due to the road closures.
- The last Route 100 bus will leave Kekaha at 4:15 p.m. For more information about bus services, please call (808) 246-8110.
Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destinations as traffic delays are expected.
