Student Detained at ‘Ele‘ele Elementary School; No Active Threat
‘ELE‘ELE – At approximately 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, officers were dispatched to ‘Ele‘ele Elementary School regarding a student reportedly in possession of a handgun. Officers immediately located and detained the student without incident.
Further investigation revealed that the item initially reported as a handgun was wrapping paper made to resemble a weapon. Officers conducted an assessment of the campus and confirmed there was no threat to students, staff, or the public.
There is no active threat to the school or the public, and no injuries have been reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
