9:00 a.m., Dec. 15, UPDATE: Overnight water shutdown scheduled for a portion of Poʻipū Road on Dec. 16
KŌLOA – The Department of Water (DOW) announces an overnight water service shutdown on a portion of Poʻipū Road, from 9 p.m. on Dec. 16 to 5 a.m. on Dec. 17, weather permitting. The affected area is Poʻipū Road, from the intersection of Waikomo Road, to the address of 3123 Poʻipū Road.
The water service shutdown is necessary to allow contractor Goodfellow Bros. LLC to perform work on the Poʻipū Road Safety and Mobility Project for the County of Kauaʻi.
Customers located in the affected area are advised to prepare for the water service shutdown by taking the following steps:
- Store enough water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
- Notify family, friends, tenants and neighbors about the water service shutdown.
- Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the shutdown.
- Businesses are advised to prepare accordingly for the water service disruption.
