America250 Flag now flying on Kaua‘i
LĪHU‘E – The County of Kaua‘i announces that the America250 flag, marking the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, is now being flown in addition to the American flag.
Through the Hawai‘i Semiquincentennial Commission, Kaua‘i was allotted four America250 flags. The flags were distributed to local programs and partners: one to the Kapa‘a High School JROTC, one to the Waimea High School JROTC, one to the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), and one to the County of Kaua‘i.
Governor Josh Green formally established the Hawai‘i Semiquincentennial Commission through Executive Order No. 23-04 in 2023. The Commission was tasked with coordinating statewide efforts to commemorate the 250th anniversary.
