Road closures scheduled for repaving work for portion of Wawae Road

LAWAI – The Department of Public Works and its contractor, Earthworks Pacific Inc., are announcing full road closures along portion of Wawae Road in Lawai from August 18 to 22, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.

The following closures are necessary for road repaving work.

Due to the landslide that has happened on Wawae Road there is no access to another route. Therefore, there will be limited to no access to and from your home. If there is a need to leave for those days, please prepare yourselves to leave before 8 a.m. and return at or after 4:30 p.m. If you do need to leave you will need to expect delays. We will be doing our best to allow access at the top of each hour, which will allow access for 10-15 minutes.

Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
