News Release

For Immediate Release: Aug. 3 2025

Aug. 3, 4:40 P.M. UPDATE, County of Kaua‘i, Anahola brush fire

Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters have knocked down an estimated 3-acre brush fire in Anahola between Hokualele Road and Kuhio Highway. 

No injuries or damaged structures have been reported. 

The fire was reported shortly after 1:45 p.m.

Response

KFD personnel have knocked down the brush fire between Hokualele Road and Kuhio Highway. Crews remain on scene to water down remaining hot spots. At this time, no structures are threatened.

Assets

Crews with the Kapaa and Kaiakea fire stations, Rescue 3, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighters, Tanker 1, Air 1, Air 2, and the on-duty Battalion Chief resonded to this incident. Crews with the Department of Public Works are also responding. 

The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency is monitoring the incident. 

Road closures

At this time, there are no road closures. However, first responders are advising the public to avoid the area.
