Aug. 2, 9:50 P.M. UPDATE, County of Kaua‘i, Anahola brush fire
Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters are responding to a brush fire in Anahola near Kalalea View Drive. The fire was reported at 8:30 p.m., and the size of the blaze is unknown at this time.
No injuries or damaged structures have been reported at this time.
Response
According to a preliminary report, crews are defending nearby homes from a fire in a valley by the shoreline with a thick tree line.
Assets
Crews with the Kapaa and Kaiakea fire stations, Rescue 3, Tender 3, ARFF, and the on-duty Battalion Chief are responding to this incident. Crews with the Department of Public Works are on standby.
The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency is monitoring the incident.
Road closures
At this time, there are no road closures. However, first responders are advising the public to avoid the area.
