Road work and lane closure scheduled for Wawae Road May 5 to Sept. 22
LĀWA‘I – The Department of Public Works and its contractor Earthworks Pacific Inc. announce road work and lane closure of Wawae Road beginning May 5 to Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting. Lane closures for portions of Wawae Road will be weekdays only, not including holidays.
This road work will include drainage improvements and remediation to the asphalt surfaces along the portion shown in the map below. The work starts approximately 15 feet from the intersection of Wawae Road and Kaumuali‘i Highway, extending mauka approximately 950 linear feet.
Access to properties will be provided. Please observe and obey all traffic controls, posted signs, and flaggers. Drivers should anticipate lane and road closure delays and allow extra travel time while driving through the work areas.
Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary lane closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
